About Us

Mahamukti Yoga School takes its name from the Sanskrit word Mahamukti, meaning “freedom” or “liberation.” It reflects the journey of freeing oneself from barriers—social, economic, political, or spiritual—to achieve true inner peace. At our school, we focus on spiritual freedom, guiding students toward harmony of mind, body, and soul.

Located in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world, our school is surrounded by the Himalayas and the holy Ganges. This natural setting creates the perfect environment for yoga, meditation, and self-discovery. We also have a vibrant branch in Goa, where the beaches and relaxed atmosphere enhance the practice of yoga.

Founded in 2012 by Akhilesh Bodhi, Mahamukti Yoga School was created as a space for seekers to experience the true essence of yoga. Today, we are recognized worldwide for our Yoga Teacher Training Courses (YTTC) and yoga retreats that blend tradition with modern understanding.

Courses We Offer

We provide Yoga Alliance certified courses designed for all levels:

• 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training – A foundation program covering yoga philosophy, asanas, meditation, and pranayama.
• 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training – An advanced, globally recognized course for those who wish to teach yoga professionally.
